The Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Georesources is pleased to inform that Professor José Saldanha Matos, Full Professor at DECivil, received on May 12, 2023 the title of Honorary Member of the European Water Association (EWA) for his contributions to the technical-scientific community in the Water sector in Europe and for their dedication to the EWA Association. Professor José Saldanha Matos has been a member of the EWA Board since 2006 and was president of this association between 2017 and 2019.

The European Water Association is an independent non-governmental and non-profit making organisation dealing with the management and improvement of the water environment. As an NGO, EWA represents an extensive network of water professionals and specialist such as national member associations, corporate members and research members. The EWA provides a forum for the discussion of key technical and policy issues in Europe and its regions.
