The International Association of Civil Engineering Students (IACES), of which the Fórum Civil (Association of Civil Engineering Students of Instituto Superior Técnico) is a member, regularly organizes the International Civil Engineering Competition, ICEC. The last stage of this competition, ICEC Final Stage, took place from the 16th to the 23rd of July in Porto, with participants from several countries such as France, Germany and Serbia. In addition to IST, Portugal was also represented by a team from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). The competition consisted of three challenges, the 1st being related to the Construction area, the 2nd to Hydraulics and the 3rd to Structures.

During this week, in addition to the challenges, there were activities that allowed participants to get to know a little about Porto and its culture, such as a tour of the Douro, a visit to the Clérigos Tower and a visit to the FEUP campus.

The Civil Engineering students who won the local phase at IST, promoted by the Fórum Civil, in April this year, Ana Raimundo, Bernardo Quadrado and Pedro Matos reached 2nd place, very close, in terms of points, to 1st. place.
