Architecture students from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) took part in UAH GOES BIENNALE, held on September 2025, as part of the Venice Biennale at the Austrian Pavilion.
The event, organized by the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning at Politecnico di Milano, brought together more than 500 students from 11 European universities under the Unconventional Affordable Housing project, focused on innovative solutions for sustainable and affordable housing.
Seventy projects were selected for public presentation in two non-stop three-hour sessions, highlighting a wide range of creative and diverse approaches. The IST students’ work, developed during their 3rd-year Design Studio course in the 2024/25 academic year, stood out for its critical and experimental perspectives on new ways of living in contemporary urban and social contexts.
Their presence at the Biennale marks an important international recognition of the academic quality and relevance of IST’s architecture program, which combines academic rigor, innovation, and social responsibility.
