ARCH Talks: Composing Sensations – The Work of Peter Zumthor Between Practice and Theory

On November 25, at 12:00 PM, at the DECivil Museum, another session of ARCH Talks will take place, led by Susana Ventura, entitled Composing Sensations: The Work of Peter Zumthor Between Practice and Theory.
The composition of sensations in architecture is usually understood as a phenomenological practice, often associated with the work of Peter Zumthor. In this lecture, however, a different perspective will be presented—one based on the Swiss architect’s creative process, which is essentially experimental in nature. Rather than focusing on a theory of perception and/or the experience of architectural works, the talk will emphasize the experimental process through which architecture asserts itself as a body of sensation.
