Eloísa Castilho, PhD student in Civil Engineering at IST, had the honour of being one of the winners of the "EuraSEM – ICEM20 Conference Attendance Awards 2023" during the 20th International Conference on Experimental Mechanics (ICEM20) held on 2-7 July, 2023, at FEUP in Porto. This award, granted by the European Society for Experimental Mechanics (EuraSEM), recognizes research works that address scientific challenges related to experimental mechanics. The award was presented by the Conference Chair, Professor Joaquim Silva Gomes, and the President of EuraSEM, Professor Zbigniew Kowalewski.

Eloísa, supervised by Dr. João Firmo, Dr. Mário Garrido, and Professor João Ramôa Correia, is a member of the research team at COREGroup within the framework of the FireFloor project, funded by FCT. Eloísa presented the work entitled "Creep in tension and compression at elevated temperature of GFRP laminates produced by vacuum infusion" during the conference.
