Applications Open for the DECivil Awards 2024 and 2025

Applications are open from 13 to 27 February 2026 for the Awards of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environment Departement (DECivil) of Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, in an edition covering the academic years 2024 and 2025.
The Departement promotes the DECivil Awards as an initiative aimed at encouraging students of Civil Engineering and Architecture and Environment programmes, to achieve a solid academic foundation in the scientific areas represented by these distinctions.
More than an academic recognition, these awards play a significant role in the educational paths of many students, highlighting merit, rigour and dedication throughout their studies.
The DECivil Awards 2024 and 2025 honour leading figures in the history of Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, and in their respective scientific fields:
• Professor Alberto Abecasis Manzanares Award
• Architect Álvaro Machado Award
• Professor João Arménio Correia Martins Award
• Professor Edgar Cardoso Award
• Professor Manuel da Costa Lobo Award
The attribution of these awards reflects DECivil’s commitment to teaching excellence, the advancement of knowledge, and the recognition of student talent.
The entire academic community is invited to take part, and eligible students are encouraged to submit their applications between 13 and 27 February 2026.
The regulations, calls for applications and application form are available on the DECivil website. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on the 5th of May 2026.
