Professor Ana Tostões distinguished with Académie d'Architecture Award
The Académie d'Architecture awarded Professor Ana Tostões with the Médaille de la critique et des publications, Prix Académie d'Architecture 1965. The medal will be awarded on September 18th.
The Académie d'Architecture is a French scientific society whose objective is to promote the quality of architecture and spatial planning and its teaching, the search for environmental improvement, the publication of opinions relating to questions of architecture and urbanism, and the research and conservation of archives on the history of architecture. Based in Paris, in the former Hôtel de Chaulnes, on Place des Vosges, it offers a collection of documents on the history of architecture and architects. The academy organizes conferences, exhibitions and distinguishes architects and representatives of professions linked to architecture with prizes and rewards. Founded in 1840 as the Société Centrale des Architectes, it was renamed the Académie d'Architecture in 1953, recovering the name of the Académie Royale d'Architecture, founded in 1671 by Jean-Baptiste Colbert.
