Inês Rosa, researcher of the Composites Research Group (CORE) of CERIS and former PhD student of DECivil, received the “ESCM Award for Best PhD Thesis of 2022”, attributed by the European Society of Composites Materials (ESCM).

The submissions “were evaluated based on novelty, complexity and depth of analysis, impact and quality of commumication”.

The thesis "Fire behaviour of concrete structures reinforced with GFRP bars" was supervised by Professor João Firmo and co-supervised by Professor João Ramôa Correia and Researcher Mário Arruda.

The award ceremony was held during the 21^st European Conference on Composite Materials (ECCM21) in Nantes on Friday July 5^th, during which Inês Rosa was invited to present her PhD thesis.
