Next VitaC on February 24 at the DECivil Museum with Enzo Carannante

Temporariness as a Structural Condition.
Portuguese ‘Self-Produced Neighbourhoods’ as ‘threshold’ spaces of ‘Permanent Temporariness’, with Enzo Carannante under the supervision of Professor Massimo Perriccioli and Professor Patricia Lourenço.

The presentation introduces temporariness as a structural condition of contemporary dwelling, analysed through the lenses of migration and displacement. The contribution investigates the Self-Produced Neighbourhoods of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area as emblematic spaces of “Permanent Temporariness” and explores the concept of “threshold” as a critical and methodological device to rethink the role of architecture in contexts of migration and displacement.

VitaC is a series of monthly seminars aimed at exploring and highlighting the latest research initiatives of CiTUA, promoting a dynamic space for presentation, debate, and collaboration.
